Here is a little peek at my solace of the moment…some twisted stitch fingerless mitts.  What do you reckon?  A little dwarvish perhaps?  Aren’t the needles lovely too – stained bamboo…not particularly great to knit with but to hand and very pretty.

The pattern is called Lockhart by Leila Raabe for Brooklyn Tweed.  I chose them after searching for patterns that required both an aran weight (Scappa Aran which I had left over from the Shawm Gadgies) and the size needles I already had.  As you can imagine, I am not travelling with a wealth of needle choices.
