Scappa Lockhart – needle & spindle

Scappa Lockhart

The Lockhart fingerless gloves from Lelia Raabe at Brooklyn Tweed are done and in full use.

The tech bits are ravelled here.

I started these in Berwick-upon-Tweed and they saw me through our road trip and the first week of Somerset – what a delight they have been.  The combination of twisted stitches and smocking work beautifully together.

The Scappa Aran from K1 Yarn Boutique in Edinburgh is all but gone now.  It does a great job with the twisted stitches and shows the texture to its best.  It bloomed in just the right way with the blocking.
