Beanie Wonderland

In between the grocery shopping and kinder pickup, I managed to catch the penultimate day of Artisan Book’s 13th Annual Beanie Exhibition.  Even though many of the beanies had already been sold and gone off to new homes by the time of my visit, it was still fabulous.

You can see images from previous exhibitions here.

As you can see, the beanie concept is wide open and embraces crochet, felting, knitting and random wildness.

If you are local and don’t know about Artisan Books – it is a treasure trove of crafty goodness. The lovely folks there sell books on everything from fashion to tattoos, sock construction to book design. It is AMAZING.  Lots of knitting and textiles mags too.  They are located at 159 Gertrude Street, Fitzroy.
